Discover the best Shopify apps

What ShopAppDB is

ShopAppDB indexes the public Shopify App Store — every listing's rating, review count, pricing model, category and developer — and refreshes that data every week. It exists because the App Store itself is built to help you install apps, not to compare them: it does not rank by evidence, does not show how an app's reviews have moved over time, and does not tell you which apps merchants actually switch to.

Here every list is generated from the data and every ranking rule is stated. No app pays to rank. Two things are labelled when they appear: Featured picks are our own apps, and Sponsored placements are paid and disclosed.

How to choose a Shopify app

• Start from the job, not the app. The buyer's guides each cover one job — upsells, email, shipping, reviews — and say what to check before installing.
• Read review count and rating together. Five stars from twelve reviews is a promising app; 4.7 from ten thousand is a proven one. The trending page shows which apps are earning reviews right now.
• Count your apps. Every installed app that touches the storefront adds scripts to every page. When a new one replaces two, that is usually the right trade.
• Check the alternatives page before you commit. Every app here has one, ranked by the same rules, so you can see who else does the job.
